There are two train stations in Bradford - Bradford
Interchange and Forster Square train station.
Bradford Interchange has extensive rail links, though
many involve changing at Leeds.
Approximate journey times are:
- London Kings Cross 3 hours
- Edinburgh 4 hours
- Birmingham 3 hours
- Manchester 1 hour
To get to BCCC from the Bradford Interchange
Walking takes about 15 minutes, though it is partly
uphill. Come out of the Interchange, down the hill,
across the crossing and turn left in front of City Hall
and walk in front of the fountain and the Police
Station. Cross the road and walk left towards the glass
front of the Alhambra Theatre, turning immediately
right, before reaching the Theatre, up Great Horton
Road. You can find Ashgrove on your left when you reach
the University of Bradford.
Buses 610/611/612/613/614 leave for Ashgrove from
Channing Way, outside City Hall, a short walk from the
Interchange; at regular intervals during the day, and
pass the main campus of the University of Bradford about
5 minutes later. Ashgrove is just opposite Chesham
Building in the Univeristy. If you have luggage, you can
take a taxi. Bradford taxis are not expensive, and the
cost should be around 3 pounds.
To get to BCCC from Forster Square train station
From Forster Square station, walk along past the "Fibres"
sculpture out onto Cheapside, then along Market Street
to City Hall. From there walk in front of the fountain
and the Police Station. Cross the road and walk left
towards the glass front of the Alhambra Theatre. Turn
right up Great Horton Road just before the Alhambra
Theatre. Ashgrove is about 300 metres up this hill,
opposite University of Bradford.
Taxis are available from Forster Square, and
cost around 3.50 pounds to get to Ashgrove.
